HOW TO REMOVE THE REAR SEAT ON ROVER P6?

Firstly remove the centre squab by pushing backward then upwards.

The seat base does not have any fixings but instead is held in place by the strength of its own springs and shape. To remove the base lift upwards at the front of the squab and them pull forward towards the front of the car.

To remove the upright squab, you will need to find and remove the two screws [GHF422] which secure it. There is a metal plate and a wire loop that are part of the squab where the screws go through. The wire loop is found under the vinyl or carper on the ‘D’post at the bottom corner of the upright squab. The metal plate is usually visible as soon as you remove the base squab and  is towards the centre of the car.

Once the screws are removed, you will need to push or lift the squab in an upwards direction to lift it off the location points that form part of the parcel shelf.

Refitting is the reverse of the above.

Beware many of the hidden edges of the seat squabs have very sharp edges.
